iMessage Broken?? Who else has this happened to?
My iMessage is completely fucked right now and I’m genuinely losing my mind a little.
Everything is sending green to everyone, it says messages are “not encrypted,” and iMessage will not activate at all. Regular texts still send, but obviously that’s not the point.
The weird part is:
iMessage is turned on
my WiFi and service are both fine
I restarted my phone multiple times
it’s happening with literally everyone
I’ve had this eSIM for months already with zero issues
nothing major changed before this happened
I updated to the newest iOS
I had a call with Apple this morning and apparently the previous escalation request that had been put in for me could not even be located, so we basically had to manually submit another one while I was on the phone with them.
Now I’m in this weird 24 hour waiting period where they’re supposedly trying to get my iMessage to reconnect to Apple’s server or something like that. I have another call with them tomorrow morning to see if it worked.
They also told me worst case scenario I might need a new number which honestly made me want to launch my phone into the ocean because I’ve had this number forever.
At this point I’ve already done all the normal troubleshooting stuff, so now I’m just stuck wondering:
is this an Apple issue? some weird carrier/eSIM corruption thing?
Has anyone else dealt with this? Did it randomly fix itself? Did Apple fix it on their end? Did you need a new eSIM or was your number fully cooked?
