Masdevallia wageneriana

I’m really pleased to bloom this cool grower in my warm-intermediate conditions. I acquired this plant early in my orchid growing journey (a few years ago) before I’d learned much about proper care for highland species. It has sat in the back of my enclosure growing nice glossy leaves ever since then, but never flowering…until now! Not sure what changed, but I’m thrilled. The flowers have a vague scent of pool chlorine.

Specklinia simmleriana

A swarm of bees!

This one sits in the back of my orchidarium and honestly I don’t pay that much attention to it, but it doesn’t seem to mind. It has been blooming continuously for over a year at this point. Each flower lasts only about a week, but with so many spikes constantly reblooming, it hardly matters.

Masdevallia sprucei

One of my favorite species because it’s a true warm grower that stays quite small. Smells like Garnier Fructis shampoo!
