I finished Sharpes Company today, and damn, I am sad for poor old Knowles. A hero to the last, first in the castle, then fully focused on trying to protect Teresa. Only to die like that. Heartbreaking!

Also in the end, they do not even mention it to Windham! "Oh by the way, Obadiah Hakeswill murdered Captain Knowles, maybe do something about it?"
