[Landlord - US - KY] Tenant moved partner in and hid it from landlord
Update: I found the un-named person's name and, as suspected, there was/is a reason they didn't and won't give me a name. They have had an eviction from EVERY PLACE they have lived for the past 5-years and left owing thousands to past properties. They also have been garnished several times, even from a child care place for thousands! Confirmed they have no driver's license because of an incident and the job they have listed isn't able to be a remote job, so I'm sure they're unemployed also, because they never leave my place. No other complex/landlord would usually accept a person with that history as a tenant. Explains why they came back to me.
I had a former tenant come back to rent from me. They are the only person named on the lease (Lessee #2 marked as n/a) and the only one who signed the lease. They previously never had anyone living with them and never mentioned anyone living with them this time. They noticed the unit was vacant again through Zillow, where I stated all occupants over 18 must pass background and credit checks.
Somehow on the lease agreement, the part that states "lessee agree not to allow any additional person(s) not named in this lease to move in or occupy this unit without prior permission from landlord" got omitted from the body of the lease.
Fast forward to move-in day and they moved their partner and their partners children in to the house. I asked if the partner/children would be living there and they said no, yet they have been there every day since.
I suspect this unnamed person is doing things that probably would have been found on a background check, yet the lessee won't even give me the partners name. Based on what I'm seeing at my unit, they may be continuing to do what behaviors would cause a bad background, if you get my drift
Do I have any recourse? I just want to know the name of this person who is living in my building and their background for security of the other tenants, the same as I would have done had I known the person was moving in at the beginning of the lease. However, I suspect that's why I wasn't told upfront.
