hit a bird 🧍🏻🥲
so in my last post here I talked about how my driving instructor sadly passed away. I now have a new instructor who a friend at work recommended (he’s her husband lol) he is super lovely.
We’ve had a few lessons together and it’s been going really well. I was quite nervous because me and driving haven’t been having the best track record with failing prior tests, moving away and getting a new instructor to then losing him to now having another one.
todays lesson was pretty good, and then the unexpected happened. Was on a 40mph road with quite a few cars behind and then a seagull landed maybe a few meters away to grab a chip or a pizza crust or whatever. Anyway I couldn’t stop or slow down because it was so close and the traffic. Anyway the seagull did not fly away in time and I unfortunately hit it…
Personally I’m actually scared of seagulls but I love all animals so I was quite shook. We stopped for a few mins after so I could gather myself since it threw me off with the sudden shock of it all.
I know this isn’t an unusual thing & I didn’t do anything wrong it was a total accident. But gosh driving just keeps finding ways to traumatise me 🤣
Anyway just wanted to reflect on today. Other than this, the lesson was good, have booked my theory in June (redo due to expiring). Seeing real progress, driving confidently in a manual again 🙂
