Seeking feedback on my fantasy short story!
Hello everyone, I've finally decided to take the leap and start sharing my writing more openly with the world (as opposed to a few family members who are incapable of saying anything negative to my face), so I thought I'd start with this. This is The Royal Guard, my one-time urge to write a fairy tale based on the least-considered figures in fantasy: royal guards. As someone working on a sci-fi novel, I'm not a huge fan of fantasy generally, but I wanted to include many tropes I like about the genre, almost to the point of caricature. Please enjoy!
