Canadian Authors - Don't wait to get your ISBN number
Just wanted to throw out a little warning to any fellow Canadian authors out there. If you are ready to publish soon but have not applied for their ISBN number yet, do it soon.
It would seem that Canada is currently very behind.
I filled out the form in March and it said it would be about a month's wait. More than a month had passed and so I reached out at the beginning of May and got an auto responder saying they were currently working through February's requests.
It is now mid-May and I have yet to see anything. Thankfully I did it with enough time to spare that it won't mess up my launch, but I thought it was worth bringing awareness to the situation.
To be honest, I didn't realize there was even a 30-day wait. I thought it was more instantaneous than that.
