I see surprisingly little discussion of this book, given the high regard the Quantum Thief trilogy is held in.

I thought it was terrific: a high-stakes biotech thriller, with a ton of background research, interesting characters, and terrifyingly plausible to boot. It reads like something Neal Stephenson could have written before he disappeared up his own arse, except that it has about zero unnecessary filler.

It's a very quick read (about 250 pages) and definitely set up to be a series. I'm in for the next one whenever it drops.

I've had a standing job search for a few months, set up for daily emails. A few months ago, I stopped receiving the mails: nothing changed on my end, providers, spam rules, mail preferences on LI, etc.

After some searching I read that deleting and recreating the search filter should fix the issue. I tried that and it did, for exactly one day, but the mails stopped again after that.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

I considered whether this post belongs in either megathread, but my account access is entirely fine, and the job search works perfectly; it just won't email me the results.

Is the elision of the verb "go" in the old fashioned English expression "I must away" related to the similar construction in Swedish in expressions like *Jag ska hem* (I'm going home), or just a weird coincidence?
