Automated my estimating job by building a saas product

Had the idea years ago while sleeping and woke up with a new mission.

The idea consumed me every day but couldn't take it to work for fear of loosing it to IP legislation.

Asked 3 devs for quotes all averaging 250k, which I didn't have and investors not interested unless there was traction.

So decided to learn how to build while building it.

Fast forward, Ive built it and it's so fast! Mainly because my output is at least 10 times faster now and a salary in an employed role wouldn't be anywhere equal to my output. An employer could also claim it was theirs if used in their time and on their device.

Other side is that by using it at work, the employer would receive more pipeline, more revenue and I'd be sat on the same income as everyone else? Wasn't happy with that idea so I left my job so I can set up as a freelance estimator. Few companies interested so far.
