Hey everyone! I am so grateful I found this sub. I love the positive encouragement and the information shared from pilots to help those fearful of flying make amazing memories.
That said - I have a whole lot of back to back flights coming up.. and the anxiety is creeping in big time. I have not flown for a couple years now, and I have not left the country since 2012. When I flew in 2012 I was definitely not as much of an anxious flyer as I am now. Next week I am flying from Chicago to Barcelona, then to Lisbon, then Madeira (I'm aware this one is gonna be.. something), and then a layover flight back in the US, and back to Chicago within the span of a week and a half. I'm trying hard to look forward to all of the beautiful sights but this just seems like such a mental roadblock in getting fully excited. What gets me every time is when I realize how high we are in the air and feeling trapped. Take off will probably have me breaking my arm rest in half since I'm in the very middle of the plane and can only look forward without a window. I appreciate any advice, encouragement and or facts you can share, thank you 🩷
