Hi — I’m currently based in Düsseldorf and trying to find work, but I’m not getting much traction and could really use some direction.
My background is in frontend development (Vue/Nuxt, React) and some AI/data work. I also have a strong interest in genealogy/research — working with records, connecting information, and handling detailed data.
I’ve been applying consistently, customizing my resume for each role, and I have a solid portfolio. I’ve also been actively connecting with recruiters on LinkedIn, but I’m still not seeing much response.
I’m open to:
– frontend/product roles
– research or data-related work
– or even local roles just to get started here
For those of you in Germany:
– What actually worked for you when job searching?
– Are referrals/networking basically required here?
– Any paths I might be overlooking?
Also, if anyone else is in a similar situation (especially in Düsseldorf or nearby), I’d be open to connecting — it’d be good to not figure this out completely alone.
