I was helping my parents clean out a drawer today and found a tiny notebook full of handwritten sandwich reviews from my dad.
Not recipes. Reviews.
Apparently for the last several years he’s been quietly scoring sandwiches out of 10 whenever he tries a new place. He includes categories like “pickle quality,” “bread structural integrity,” and “regret afterwards.”
The funniest part is how serious some of the comments are. One entry literally said “excellent turkey, but emotionally forgettable.”
I genuinely think he missed his calling as a food critic.
