I've gotten my 7800xt+DOCK-OC4 (Oculink) to run lesser demanding games amazingly, however, as soon as I try a more demanding title, the whole system stutters to a freeze and horrible audio cracking. I know from other posts that people set their Oculink m.2 slots to PCIe gen 3, but ASUS are a bunch of dicks and locked the BIOS on my laptop to not let me do that. That's why I'm hoping that anybody knows some sort of software that would let me do that, or that they might know another fix. If all else fails, would the 7800xt work well over TB4 (which my laptop suppots) or should I try to sell it open-box?

I have a very new setup that I’ve been trying to get working. I’ve finally gotten somewhere after uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for hours on repeat and trying every other troubleshooting thing I can think of. I’ve noticed I can get it working when I re-seat the Oculink on the dock end. However once I run a game for more than 10 minutes it freezes the entire system. Anybody know what I would need to do?

I just set up my 7800xt over Oculink to m.2 and the usage in Task Manager keeps spiking from about 15 to 100%. It’s not doing anything right now and when I tried to load a game, it freaked out and the audio crackled and the game never loaded.

I’m building an eGPU setup for my laptop and was planning on 3d printing a hatch, so that I can plug the Oculink into the m.2 adapter but not permanently have a hole in the bottom of my laptop. Anyone else done this?

Also to be clear, I have an nvidia gpu in the laptop, and my egpu will be a 9060xt.

Do a lot of you have egpu setups as backups/upgrades for handhelds, while using a desktop as your main rig, or are the majority of the members of this sub full time egpu users?

Literally just starting emulation and don't have my ps2 or 3 anymore because they're both dead and don't want to buy a new one. Does Vimm's Lair have the system software that I need for the emulator to run?
