CS to CE transfer

So I just got into CS and while im very grateful as this was my top choice originally, after putting thought into it I realized Im better off in CE, but on my OUAC choices waterloo CE was my 5th choice as I put CS of other unis above and Im worried that the reason for rejection. Either way what happened happened and Im planning to enroll into CS but was wondering if its possible to transfer to CE. For reference my passion is in applied AI and AI/ML engineering and I feel that having knowledge in hardware looks better nowadays with the growth of AI, as Ive seen that jobs within the hardware parts of AI is whats been blowing up. Is there anything I can do?

Scholarships

I just got into CS and got the University of Waterloo President's Scholarship of Distinction and had some questions. It seems this is a one time award other than the research and international award that are claimable in upper years but within the faculty of mathematics, I saw several other awards that had much larger benefit but unfortunately I never competed in an Olympiad or in any of the cited competitions (like Euclid etc.). Wanted to ask if there are any I can get, when these are released and if during the undergrad there are other opportunities to get anything.

CS/CE

I applied to CS and CE at both waterloo and UofT and so far i got CS from both, rejected from CE at uoft and nothing from CE at waterloo which at first surprised me since usually CS is more competitive but I guess nowadays things are different. I wanted to ask a few questions:

  1. did the order of choices on OUAC matter as before I put CS above CE however I now changed my mind and would rather CE
  2. If I go waterloo CS can I transfer to CE
  3. If I haven’t gotten anything back for CE at waterloo does it mean I am rejected

Ive seen people do this before but times have changed so wanted to see how people would rank waterloo GT UIUC and Purdue for CS/CE and some reasons. Before alot of people would say waterloo top due to the crazy co op but nowadays its harder to get a co op in the US which are usually the best ones from my understanding. Anyway just wanted to hear some opinions.
