Especially as a guy. I’ve spent basically my entire mid to late twenties living in Korea, so I obviously knew how common cosmetic procedures were here, but I always assumed I just wasn’t the target audience for any of it.
I’ve had eye bags since I was literally a pre-teen and over the past few years they got BAD. Like no matter how much I slept, drank water, touched grass, whatever, I constantly looked exhausted. I think living in Korea also made me more aware of it since appearance is definitely a bigger thing here compared to back home.
A good friend of mine randomly suggested under-eye surgery and I gotta be honest, I didn’t even know surgery for eye bags was a thing until like 5 months ago 💀
After researching and seeing how insanely common the procedure actually is here for both women and men, I finally decided to just go for it.
I’m turning 30 next month so I figured screw it, birthday gift to myself lol.
Now I’m 17 days post-op and I’m honestly kind of shocked by how smooth the recovery has been. I’m almost fully healed already. Most of the swelling and bruising faded much faster than I expected, and I pretty much look normal in daily life now.
I definitely have a more noticeable “aegyosal” now lol but overall I just look waaay less tired, which was the main goal anyways.
Getting older weirdly made me stop overthinking what other people might think all the time. This ended up being one of the best things I’ve done for myself and I didn’t expect it to boost my confidence this much either.
Anyways, guess I wanted to make this post for other dudes (or just people tbh) who are considering under-eye surgery but feel hesitant like me because it feels weird admitting you even care about this stuff as a guy.
