Added Malaysian trumpet snails but they aren’t burrowing into the sand

Hi all, as the title says, I added 11 Malaysian trumpet snails around 48 hours ago and they are moving around eating etc but they aren’t going all the way through my sand, at most I’ve seen some half way in with their shells sticking out.

They’re cool but I got them to help remove black spots in my sand. I’m just wondering if this is normal or there’s something wrong ?

Am I making a mistake adding Malaysian trumpet snails to my tank?

Basically what the title says. I have sand in my tank and I’ve been getting these black spots (see picture 3.) after some research I concluded that trumpet snails would be the best and most natural course of action. However I’ve also read that they can breed really fast… my tank is only 12 gallons. Has 11 fire red Neo shrimp,10 chilli rasboras and 1 Amano shrimp.

I’m kind of worried about them taking all the food. The snails are quite big compared to the rest of the animals in the tank.

Good or bad idea ? Let me know please

Which hair style should I have?

Always get hung up on how I should have my hair. 1st pic is the longest I’ve ever had it. I loved the look but the constant need to style it drove me up the wall so I ended up getting it cut. The rest of the pics are me now 👾

Black stuff under my sand

Hi all, my tank is currently cycling. It’s my first ever time owning my own tank.

2 days ago I noticed this black stuff under my sand. There’s way more of it and it’s not just around the sides. When I was placing more plants I noticed it was under the sand around the centre too.

Any idea what this is ?

-thanks
