Newbie jig weight question

I bought a shimano type j s60-3 at half price and both google ai and chatgpt gave me polar opposite answers, the rod states 180g jig weight and i realized im only able to kayak to waters around 20 to 30 meters water depths and wouldnt need a jig weight of 180g.

So my question is,if i pair the rod with a 60g jig, would it work or 'load'?would even a 60g be overkill for such shallow depth?

l've never tried vertical jigging before but im preparing gears for it,i'd like to slow jig for a specific grouper species around my waters
