What are my odds of getting into a NP program in Ontario?
I'm a RN with 6 years of experience (float team, cardiology, ICU). For the past year I've debated the next step for my career. I've ultimately decided that I want to pursue my NP. I've read a good chunk of these posts but figured I would make my own to get some insight into what people did to boost their applications. I'm willing to apply to any school in the GTA for 2027. I've also looked into schools outside of the GTA, including those in different provinces but I don't have much insight into the flexibility of these programs. I just finished a Certified Diabetes Educator course but I won't be able to write the CDE exam until next May (it's offered once per year). My plan down the road is to combine my NP and CDE.
My question is, with a 3.61/4.0 and 3.64/4.33 GPA and evidence of continued learning do I have a chance at getting in to any programs in the GTA? I'm willing to volunteer and I'm joining a working group on my unit that will hopefully help as well.
