I’m trying to understand how appointment booking works for H1B visa renewal stamping in India.
I currently have an H1B renewal appointment scheduled for next year. I have already hit the reschedule limit, so I cannot reschedule the existing appointment anymore.
My question is: Can I use the same DS-160 confirmation number and the same visa details to start a new application / pay a new fee and book another appointment if I find an earlier slot?
If that works, there may temporarily be two appointments tied to the same DS-160 / visa details — one existing appointment for next year and one new earlier appointment. My plan would be to cancel the older/later appointment only after the new earlier one is successfully booked.
I am trying to understand if this is allowed or if the system will block it because the same DS-160, passport, or visa details are already linked to an existing appointment.
