Genuine question here. I keep seeing stories of students getting flagged for AI when they didn’t use it at all, and it’s making me seriously question how reliable these tools are.

If different AI checkers can give completely different results on the same text, how is Turnitin being treated like it’s accurate enough to base accusations on?

I’m not saying people don’t cheat, obviously they do, but relying heavily on a system that can throw false positives seems risky. Do people actually trust it, or is everyone just going along with it?
