Marine drive 3/4 BR move in in July

Basically the title. I’m 19F and based on the horror stories I’ve been seeing on Reddit, am I cooked? A studio would’ve been ideal but a 4BR was the best choice for me budget-wise so I accepted the offer as soon as I got it. Everybody says your experience is heavily dependent on your roommates and I had not the best experience in first year dorms. My roommate was okay but we weren’t really compatible and since I’ll be sharing a living space this year and MD doesn’t have the best reviews, I’m kind of losing it rn. I need the shared washroom to be kept clean like I actually don’t know what I’m going to do if it’s worse than first year dorms 😭 someone please tell me about all or any of your good experiences in MD

yrh housing offer advice (help)

So I got offered housing and since I have a 12 hour time difference with Vancouver, waking up to the email was a jump scare. Why? Because everyone assured me it was unlikely I’d get offered housing with my numbers so obviously I’d started looking for a place to start living in by July with friends. I even emailed housing because I was afraid of this happening and what to do in the event that I signed a lease already. They didn’t respond after which i probably should’ve gone in person so that one is on me.

Rant aside, I don’t know what to do. I’d feel slimy if I suddenly told my friends no since I’m the one that suggested rooming together but I think you get moved to the end of the waitlist if you decline? On the flip side, since all my room types were >= 2BR, I’d run the risk of being stuck with horrible people for the whole year on top of being a crappy friend. And I’d also have to find someone to sublet to since I set my earliest move in date as may which I don’t feel hopeful about in the slightest.

I don’t even know the point of this post. I’m looking for an outside opinion I guess 😭
