Need help searching for the tall American man who saved Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi in Sri Lanka
After a very public sacking/defrocking from his monastery, on the outskirts of Colombo city, Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche attempted suicide for the 10th time by laying on the train tracks, by chance a tall “American” tourist, completely drunk, drinking “beer”, shouting and screaming grabbed him and pulled him off the tracks and gave him an earful of wisdom before pushing him away. After which Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche chose to live. We must find this man to thank him.
Google says that over 60,000 American tourists visited Sri Lanka in 2025.
