Hi guys, I helped run about 200’ of 1.5” copper chilled water cooling lines, sweat fit with tinning flux, for some equipment that needs cooling. We are going to flush the inside of the pipes with fluid to remove the flux and debris from deburring/insulation getting inside the pipes, etc. I’m supposed to make the plan.

I’m wondering what the fluid should be. Is warm water enough? Oatey recommends bleach + TSP. We are also considering a mild citric acid solution or a mild detergent. We have this product on hand https://high-techconversions.com/product/globaltech-aquasonic-aqueous-cleaner-for-solder-paste-flux/ but is it absurd to use it for a large system, I think it’s for small parts.

I’m kind of worried that if we just go with warm water, it will take hundreds of gallons to completely flush. Is it possible that with chemicals I will be able to use less total fluid because it cleans the flux out quickly? Is warm water the way to go? We will circulate with a submersible pump.
