Question about H1B Sponsorship at WSDOT for TE2 Position
Hi everyone,
I recently interviewed for a Transportation Engineer 2 (TE2) position at WSDOT, and yesterday the hiring manager reached out saying they'd like to extend an offer! They asked me to fill out a Release of Authorization form to move forward with the next steps.
I am an international candidate and will need H1B sponsorship. I have a few questions for those who work at WSDOT or in WA state HR:
- Does WSDOT typically sponsor H1B visas for TE2 roles? I know some state agencies do, but I want to be sure before I get my hopes too high.
- What is the general process and timeline? Since I'm filling out the authorization form now, at what point should I formally bring up the H1B details with HR (if the hiring manager doesn't already know)?
I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thank you in advance!
