Police in America - is this accurate??

Having binge watched the whole series so far, I want to know how all the police officers in the show have absolutely zero people skills. Is this typical of most American police, or does this just show bad examples?

Some stand out moments, not getting the kids out the room in the absolute meth-den trailer when handcuffing and manhandling their dad.

When they're called to the house where the husband has disappeared, they instantly treat his wife as a suspect and when the female office says "has he ever tried to commit suicide before" I couldn't belive it.

Then to go outside and just say in an absolute monotone "sorry your husband has passed away" in the middle of the street!

Also, that poor girl whose sister was shot and the babies taken! You'd have thought she was the one to have shot her!

Also, the absolute shouting of different orders "don't move","lie on your front", "hands on your head", back to "don't move"! - which one do you want??

To any Americans Watch any UK or Australian police show, you won't believe how the police deal with the public!
