transferring from Griffith to UQ
hi i would really like some insight/advice on this. i’m currently a first year bachelor of health sciences student trying to upgrade into dentistry at griffith, however, i’ve underestimated the workload and am behind/stressed/struggling and unsure if i can reach my goal of getting into dentistry next year.
i was thinking of transferring to UQ and doing a bachelor of health science there because if i were to try for dentistry there, they favour UQ students where a 5.8 GPA = 99.00 ATAR selection rank. i also live a lot closer to UQ than griffith gold coast campus so this would benefit me (my parents don’t want me to move down there). silly me in high school didn’t know you could also upgrade into dent at UQ.
would it be worth it in the long run because there’s also the GAMSAT route of getting into dentistry, and transferring would set me back a bit of time? or is it possible to transfer into UQ and immediately start my second year next year (if that’s even possible)?
or in general, if anyone could give me insight into their transfer process? can you transfer midway and will my gpa from griffith and then uq count?
