Public servant cuts, open letter to ministry DG?
In the last slash and burn, I was one of the lucky ones to be transferred to a new role in the same ministry. But, the process that led up to that was awful, (was a week away from having to leave) and everyone’s stress levels were off the charts over a long period. Of the many things wrong with it, was the contempt staff were treated with.
I probably won’t do this, as it would move me to the head of the chopping block line, but I’d love to write an open letter to the DG with a list of ways to do better…starting with true transparency, showing us what if any data and research was done to arrive at the decisions they make about who to cut, don’t give the whole process a euphemistic brand name like we’re all idiots, far better communication….this list could get very long. Thoughts?
