So kinda bizarre situation. I had been out sightseeing all day, and on the way home I decided to stop off for a beer, and got chatting with a couple of locals who sat next to me who were also out drinking. Got along well, was drinking soju, and a few hours later it was just me and one of them left as the other two had work the next morning.
By the time we was done an hour later he was incredibly drunk. I bought him a water and tried to help him call a taxi home. He dialled 119 and I asked if that's a taxi, he said yes, little did I know he was calling the police. I didn't realise until they showed up with an ambulance and started checking some details about him.
I stuck with him, but at this point I'm way over my head. One of the cops came up to me and asked for my passport info. I gave him everything and he said I could go, so I left immediately.
The whole situation feels crazy to me, all I was doing was drinking with some locals who invited me out, and by the end one is so drunk he calls the police to get home.
I'm sure he'll regret it in the morning, but I also just want to get an idea of where I stand, as I've never had to have a conversation with foreign police before.
