Gordon Freeman' s Crowbar - Half Life franchise

It' s the first tool he got his hands on during his daring escape from Black Mesa, but after acquiring pistols, rifles and many other long ranged weapons it becomes useful only for destroying crates or quickly taking care of headcrabs.

Dusk Dude' s Sickles - Dusk

Similiar to the Crowbar, these are also starting weapons that are useful only at the beginning of the game and then sidelined by stronger, long ranged weaponry, though these Sickles also have the hidden feature of reflecting enemy projectiles back to sender, but since this is not explicitely explained to the player they could go the entire game not knowing they could do that.
