Hi everyone! I recently started the hunt for a good laptop for college and was overwhelmed by the vast amount of options there are. As I was recently accepted to a pre-med major, I'm looking for something reliable that can last the whole day or most of it if possible. I currently own a Lenovo Ideapad 1, but it's performance while multitasking and battery life are a hassle. I'm also looking into the 2-in-1 category, since being able to use it as a tablet is beneficial for my clinical rotations, portability and stuff. Google recommended me to look into the Lenovo Yoga i7, HP Envy x360 14, Samsung book 4/5 360, and Surface Pro 11, but I wanted other people's opinion on this. Thanks!

Are you open to refurbs/used? only if used great condition
How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? 2-in-1/360 laptop, would prefer >10 hrs battery life
How important is weight and thinness to you? N/A as long as its comfortable to transport
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 12 to 16 inch prob
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. just note-taking and microsoft office
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? probably won't have much time for gaming
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? touch-screen, usb-c charging, also backlit keyboard would be nice if possible
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Despite macbook's popularity, I'd prefer a windows suggestion as I grew up with it and own most of samsung's ecosystem.
