I have had IBS-D symptoms for a few years that improved by about 75% when I stopped drinking soda with aspartame. Over the last six or seven months I started developing moderate to severe lower, abdominal gas and cramping and upper abdominal bloating. Doctor diagnosed SIBO which fits.
Took one round of Xifacin. Have had maybe an 80% reduction of symptoms now about a week and a half after finishing the round. Dr. had prescribed a refill so I called to ask if I should take it and they said it was up to me but that considering the cost of the medication, it might be hard to get a third round covered so I should basically proceed with caution. Since I’m still having some less frequent symptoms, I’m not sure if I should take it now to try and knock them out entirely or wait and see if they get worse…

So my husband is having some plan changes. He previously had free insurance that was great. His employer has now scaled back benefits, and he can either have a mediocre free HMO plan or a not much better paid plan.

I am planning to add him to my employer offered policy where he would get overall better benefits than he would on the pay plan where he is. But, he still has the option of a free HMO through his employer.

If he were to be added to my benefits, and also sign up for his free HMO, I believe the free HMO would become his primary. Would there be any benefit to doing it this way? I really don’t understand how things work with primary secondary. I don’t feel more comfortable if the primary were through my employer, but I don’t think that’s how it goes.

Thanks for any insight.
