California nonprofit employment + drug testing
Hi! I recently received a job offer from a nonprofit in California and am really excited about it, but I'm anxious about the pre-employment drug screen.
I use cannabis recreationally outside of work and recently stopped. I've been reading about AB 2188 and California's protections around off-duty cannabis use, but I'm confused about how this works in practice.
For anyone who works in nonprofit HR/hiring or has gone through something similar:
-Do nonprofits still commonly test for THC?
-Do they tell you what substances are included in the panel?
-How does AB 2188 typically affect the process?
Not looking for legal advice, just hoping for some clarification about what to expect from the employer/onboarding side. Thanks!
