Potential Electrical Concerns - Any Thoughts?
We've lived in the house for coming up on two months. It's an older house - early 1950's build. They were supposed to have done electrical updating prior to move-in (grounding, etc.) Since we've moved in, we had noticed that when we would run a plug-in appliance or when the HVAC kicks on, the LED lighting in the dining room would dim then go back to full brightness along with the candle warmer in the living room.
Fast forward to the past couple nights and the entire upstairs living room area and outdoor lamppost (on the same wall plate), the downstairs, kitchen, and bathroom were flickering a lot /shutting off and turning back on. The GFCI buttons will show red then go back to normal once they are reset.
The electric panel wasn't hot (at least not anything I could personally tell a difference with), I didn't hear any sort of buzzing, and the breaker wasn't tripped or anything.
I called Duke Energy and they told me the voltage to the house is fine, I'm just not sure I'm fully sold it's not something on their end. Do I call an electrician to get their opinion one way or the other? Has anyone else dealt with this sort of issue?
