Credit Karma score literally fell 65 points just because I closed my $300 credit card..

I mean seriously how is the math making sense here? I had this card for 3 years, never had a late payment on it or any issues at all.. I barely even used it for the past year because I had another $1500 credit limit on a different card (same company). Why didn’t my credit card company warn me that it was going to drop my score?

My score is still 738 reported by Experian (this is the score that comes with my credit card), but I am freaking out now that it’s about to tank.

Edit: My card is still available to be reinstated. Would reinstating it build back my credit?

Is it time to book hotel/flight?

I am like 95% sure that I am in for 2027, as my time is 7:30 under the cut. I am not really in a hurry to reach for my wallet quite yet.. but I also don’t want to wait too long.. what do you guys think?

Crazy HR stats

So, this is from a Half I did one month ago. I literally just ran the full in Dec. at the same pace (only a touch slower). Although, training has been spotty since then.

I don’t think my HR could’ve been this high, because obviously it couldn’t have been in zone 5 for that long.. I felt like I was moving along, but also able to talk in full sentences to people throughout the race. More like a high zone 3, low zone 4 effort.

This is the 3rd time I have run a half in the last couple years that showed an avg of 188bpm+ like this (more than 80% in zone 5) even with the zones being set relatively high.

Besides getting in better shape (obviously) how can I balance out the zones? I know I could just set the max HR higher, but that would basically mean setting the max to 220+.
