Full-term baby in NICU for 1 week-struggling with "desats" while feeding. How long does this usually take?

My wife and I just had our first baby. After a very difficult pregnancy and labor, our daughter (born full-term) was admitted to the NICU. She is now a week old and we're stuck in a frustrating "gray area."

The Issue:

She is having inconsistent "desaturation" episodes (O2 dropping into the 50s). It happens almost exclusively when she is feeding or has a pacifier. It's like she's picking eating over breathing and hasn't mastered the suck-swallow-breathe coordination yet it seems?

The Current Plan:

The doctors are mostly "throwing spaghetti at the wall." We are under constant monitoring, and they've mentioned a possible ENT consult to scope for anatomy issues, but otherwise, we're just waiting for her to "grow out of it"?

Anyone that has any advice or anything to share would be super beneficial.
