Hey all, first of all: CCTB IS A SCAM!!! Don’t give them a single dollar and minute of your life!!!

I’m writing this because I want to make sure no other immigrant falls into the same trap. I want to share my experience with the scammers of the so called Canadian College of Technology and Business - CCTB.

When you are new to Canada, you are vulnerable to scammers. CCTB knows this, and they exploit it. They sell themselves as a professional tech institution that gets you ready for the real world. Their recruiters painted a beautiful picture: they promised IT training, a guaranteed pathway to a full work permit, and explicitly told us they would place us directly into great tech companies.

Three years later, I can tell you it was all an absolute LIE. They take your money, give you zero help, and leave you stranded. This isn't just a bad college; it is a perfect immigration scam.

1. The "Education" is a Total Joke, an insult.

There aren't any educational standards. There were no real courses, no homework, and the classes lacked any importance. To show you how insulting it is: during our Relational Databases course, the “professor” literally had us singing famous songs instead of teaching us database architecture or SQL. We literally paid thousands of dollars to sing songs. Other teachers wouldn’t even arrive or would be late, for many of them it is like a side job to make extra money, so they don’t care at all. Me and my friends would literally upload football magazines as pdfs pretending that that was our homework and we would get a 100, they simply don’t care.

2. The Diploma is Completely Worthless.

The credential they give you at the end holds zero weight in Canada. A kindergarten diploma has more value than this piece of paper (I actually mean this). Local tech employers have never heard of CCTB, and when they do look into it, they realise it’s a joke. And even worse, the program is structured in a way that leaves you with no real options to legally stay in Canada after you finish. They sell you a dream of immigration, but they destroy your hopes at the end when you realise that you just spent thousands of dollars and are left with nothing.

3. The Co-op Setup is an Absolute Trap.

The career placement and Co-op support they brag about DOES NOT exist. Because no legitimate tech company respects CCTB (no Canadian knows this place!!!), finding a real Co-op placement was impossible. It got so bad that every single friend I made in the program had to fake their Co-op hours just to graduate. The school knows this happens, and they don't care, as long as they get your tuition.

The Bottom Line

DO NOT give a single dollar to these SCAMMERS. CCTB is not an educational collage, it is a corporate trap designed to extract money from ambitious newcomers who don't know any better.

If your only goal is a visa pathway, find the cheapest, lowest-tier college possible to save your cash. But if you actually care about IT and want to build a real career, STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM CCTB. It is a total waste of money and a massive scam.

Don't let them trick you the way they tricked us.
