I’d like to apply for my Irish passport - I don’t need FBR as my Mom was born and grew up in Ireland until she moved to the UK in the 60’s. Is it still approximately a year wait?

Staying at Griffiths College on the way back to the UK from Kerry.
We arrive in Dublin early afternoon of Wednesday.
Have only booked Kilmainham jail for Friday morning so far.
Want to do EPIC and Jeanie Johnston & Book of Kells as well as experiencing Temple Bar, St Stephen’s Green and Grafton St.
Not bothered about zoo, but was also considering Green hop on hop off bus.
Can’t decide how to rearrange the Wednesday we arrive (unsure of time yet), Thursday & Saturday.
