One of my snails died 😢
My first snail death in over three years since I started snail keeping.
Should I let them decompose in the tank? And if my setup isn't bioactive should I help the process along by crushing the shell? Letting the other snails benefit from the extra calcium?
Any suggestions?

I got this sample of Basalts- not sure where it's originally from- It's fairly porphyritic. I'm trying to identify the phenocrysts. Some of them seem glassy and polished but others seem like they are just rust in the vesicles. I'm stuck between altered olivine or plagioclase with iron staining.
I've tried an AI identifier and it says with its whole robotic heart that it is plagioclase, but I can't find any images of that online that look similar to mine- it matches more with images of olivine. Or am I completely off base?
