Phlebotomy cert before going into rad tech program?

Hi! I’m starting my prereqs in fall for the rad tech program, but I still want to get a phlebotomy certification. Once I finish the program next summer I plan to get my phlebotomy certification so I can have income and a job in the medical field while in school. Has anyone in here done this before? I wanted to know if this was a good idea. I’m wanting to work in a hospital once I become a rad tech, and a hospital near me hires newly certified phlebotomists. I thought if I already worked there it might be easier for me to switch areas inside the hospital. Maybe that’s stupid thinking and probably easier said than done.

Also if there are other certifications that only take a few months that yall think might be better lmk! I’ve just always been interested in phlebotomy. Just wanted some input!
