Stop the Train - some Train related BS from yesterday
Yesterday some friends and I went to one of SF's main soccer bars to catch the US vs Australia game. The bar let us in just before the game which was hours later than their usual opening time. The line to get in was blocks long
Why did they have us wait? Train was filming a music video. Fucking Train. They took forever to clear out their gear. Their manager was an insufferable twat who was bossing the line around so he could get a shot of outside of the bar without people in it. The band slipped out the back because the line was chanting 'Fuck Train' whenever someone associated with the band popped out
The bar owner seems to be quite the Train fan. There's a signed bass behind the bar. He gave a silly little speech about the band being friends and their next song or album or whatever shares its name with the bar. Blah blah blah. His speech and every time they played a Train song was met with chants of 'Fuck Train'. I couldn't get a 'Stop The Train' chant to take off so 'Fuck Train' had to suffice. The table of young-uns next to us was a blast and put more energy into the 'Fuck Train' chants than they did cheering for the game. I shared the WMTSS video with them
A US Soccer win, early beers on a Friday off work, and a crowd coming together for music snobbery was about as much fun as I could have hoped for
