Michael (2026)

As a Michael Jackson fan, I would literally watch anything related to him, let alone a biopic. So I completely understand all the other fans who were desperately excited to see their star on the big screen.

The movie’s story was pretty lame and shallow. It’s MJ man, how do you not make a good story out of such an extraordinary life?

Also the fact that Janet isn’t in the movie makes it feel lacking in so many ways. And of course, I understand why she refused to have any connection with it.

I’d do the same if I were her.

As a fan, I enjoyed the music and the performances, of course. But would I watch it again? I doubt it. I’d rather just watch YouTube videos of his performances instead.

Also the attempts to mimic fans’ reactions were so cringy and completely off. They really didn’t nail it.

Jafaar and the young MJ actors did a great job though, and I can only imagine the pressure they were under trying to portray a phenomenon like Michael Jackson. So yeah I expected more tbh especially from Jafaar but what he did was still amazing.

But I admit, whenever a song started playing, my heart naturally lit up because, as I said, I’m a fan.
