Transferred to UCSB and now I want out
I'm a CC transfer who got into all UCs except Cal. I'm from LA so was considering UCLA, but I took my family's advice of living in a new place and going to a "chiller" school where I'd hopefully enjoy life more.
Now I'm at UCSB and miserable. Housing is nowhere near worth the price, I don't fit into the culture, job opps seem dry as hell compared to LA, and now I can only see my boyfriend on weekends. I chose this school because I thought I'd be happy here, but I don't see a point in being here if it's not even fulfilling that requirement. (I don't mean to diss UCSB, I'm just saying why it's not for me.)
I want to reapply to UCLA for Fall 2027. I already have 66 units completed from CC alone and I'm worried about being ineligible for transfer if I do this year at UCSB because of the unit cap. What would be the best choice to get accepted to UCLA: withdraw from UCSB and go to CC for another year, stay at UCSB for the year, or take a gap year? The last option isn't ideal because I already took 2 years off school but I'm willing to do whatever will boost my chances the most. If you've been in a similar situation, what did you do?
