It's in my backyard (or the neighbors') and I only hear it evening and late night, never in the day. I heard it this time last year as well and maybe into summer but I did not hear it these past winter months.

Its like almost a quack sound but I don't believe it's a smal duck. There is no water in this immediate area unless my neighbor has a small pond but even then I would hear a duck in the daytime??
