Almost got scammed by the Dating/Tinder cafe scam
TLDR - Met girl on dating app, planned to go to a cafe, cafe turns out shady AF, walked out 5 mins into the date, bouncer unsuccessfuly tried to extort 2400.
Trust your gut guys and always decide the place to meet or meet at some name branch franchise. Her offbeat cafes and lounges can wait till 2nd-3rd date. If you still find yourself in this situation carry a firm attitude and get out of it before anything is ordered.
Met this girl on a dating app (she says her name is Diksha), asked me to meet at Karkardooma metro station. I looked up the area on dineout and found a Lord of the Drinks I wouldn't mind going to. When I reached she asked me to come a little bit further from the metro station near the HP petrol pump. Once there asked me to go into the first cafe she saw some 'Kesar Fine Dining' there was nothing fine about it😂
This place was in the basement, only a shitty lift access and very shady. Anyways I went in, sat down, asked for the menu, prices were not too inflated for a good place in Delhi (Farzi or Delhi heights or something) but the liquor menu was absolute shit show. 3600 for a 60ml of black dog.
I asked her to go to some other place she started making excuses "abhi kaha jayenge", " thodi der baith jate hai" and stuff. Now ofcourse i knew I was being lured into a scam. Also she took the menu from me I actually only got to glance at it for a min or so. I've been on enough dates to know no girl decides her order with 1 look at the menu😂.
There were a very shady set of people having hookah there I am assuming they were in on it anyways now I was in full disaster control mode. Texted a colleague to call me on teams. Then told her the hookah smell is making me nauseas and let's go somewhere else. I called for the waiter and cancelled the order, he said it's 100 for the water paid cash right there and left. The girl obviously didn't follow.
Once outside a 'bouncer' big fucking 6'2 guy stoped me asked for entry fee i thought if it's under 500 I'll pay and move on it was 1200 per person now even my non confrontational ass is not paying that.
I didn't say anything just moved out he tried to grab me (Did I mention I am from Noida) so I pulled out my finest Noida voice and a pocket 🔪 and walked to that metro station.
