[Lotm Theory] Sun pathway powers

Sun Pathway Theorys

In this document, I'll discuss some theories and questions about how the Sun Pathway's powers might work in certain condotions.

Sequence 6: Notary

The Sequence 6 Notary is one of the coolest Sequences in the Sun Pathway because it gains the ability Notarization. However, we never really see a Beyonder use this ability to its full potential. We mostly see the Nullification aspect, but almost never the contract-making aspect.

We know contracts can be created, but we never learn their exact limits. For example:

  • Could a Notary write a contract saying, "You must give me everything you own," and if the other person knowingly signs it, would they be mystically forced to obey?
  • Could a Notary create a contract stating, "You will remain loyal to me for the rest of your life," and have it become spiritually binding?

If that's how the ability works, then making a deal with a Sun Pathway Beyonder would be incredibly dangerous. They wouldn't have to rely on trust or loyalty—they could simply make a binding contract.

At Sequence 0, this ability should be vastly stronger. I wonder if a Sequence 0 Sun deity could create contracts powerful enough to bind angels, or perhaps even affect other gods under certain conditions. We never get a clear answer in the novel.

Shepherd Combination

If a Shepherd Grazed the souls of a:

  • Notary
  • Lawyer
  • Arbiter

would this combination become incredibly overpowered?

Imagine combining:

  • Notary contracts,
  • Lawyer Distortion,
  • Arbiter/Judge Prohibition,
  • and Nullification from the Sun Pathway.

This combination could potentially prevent enemies from using their abilities while also distorting their powers and enforcing mystical rules. It seems like one of the strongest utility combinations a Shepherd could obtain.

The Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun and Radio

If radios existed in the LOTM universe, would the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun broadcast Bards singing hymns every day?

Since Bard songs can:

  • dispel fear,
  • inspire courage,
  • strengthen faith,
  • and improve morale,

it seems like a perfect use of technology. Constant broadcasts could make believers calmer and more faithful.

Light Suppliant's Evil Detection

Wouldn't a Light Suppliant's Evil Detection constantly activate?

Because in every place there is a spirit or something similar underground, would they detect all of it?

Would the detection constantly sense these things, or does it have a limited range that prevents it from triggering all the time?

Sun Holy Water

A Solar High Priest can turn ordinary water into Sun Holy Water, but we never learn how much water can be sanctified.

Obviously, they probably can't turn an entire ocean into holy water.

However, could they bless:

  • a bucket?
  • a pond?
  • a lake?

If not, what is the actual limit?

I imagine that a Sequence 0 Sun deity, with complete authority over the pathway, might actually be capable of sanctifying an entire ocean or sea.

The Best Pathway for Pretending to Be Divine

I think the Sun Pathway would be one of the best pathways for pretending to be an angel or even a god in front of ordinary people.

It naturally possesses:

  • holy light,
  • golden flames,
  • miracles,
  • blessings,
  • purification,
  • and abilities that perfectly match what people imagine a god should look like.

To normal people, a mid-Sequence Sun Beyonder would almost certainly appear to be a genuine divine being.

Cleave of Purification

How long does Cleave of Purification actually last?

If the effect lasts for an entire day, then it could be an excellent way to make money early on by temporarily enchanting weapons for mercenaries, hunters, or adventurers.

The novel never specifies its duration, so it's difficult to judge how practical this would be.

The Sun Pathway Is Surprisingly Good at Making Money

The more I think about it, the more I realize the Sun Pathway has many legitimate ways of earning money.

Some examples include:

  • Selling blessed or purified items.
  • Creating Sun Holy Water.
  • Offering exorcism services.
  • Purifying cursed artifacts.
  • Blessing weapons before dangerous expeditions.
  • Healing corruption or possession.
  • Providing protection against evil spirits.
  • Acting as a trusted witness through Notarization.
  • Creating binding contracts for businesses, nobles, or organizations.

Compared to many combat-focused pathways, the Sun Pathway seems to have an unusually large number of practical, civilian applications that could generate a steady income.

(I was going to write more, but I couldn’t think of anything else. Maybe I would write about what would happen if they changed pathways)

[LotM Roleplay] A Small Miracle (chapter 14)

(chapter 14 https://www.reddit.com/r/LordofTheMysteries/comments/1ug9qw0/lotm_roleplay_the_logs_of_the_devil_chapter_13/ )

"So, what did the doctor mean?" Axel asked.

"Well, it's something personal to him. We can't talk about it out in the open. Let's go to his house. I'll explain it there."

"But it's night. Why did he leave now?"

"I don't know, but he'll be back soon. Don't worry."

They started walking, and twenty minutes later they were standing in front of the house. Axel opened the door first and entered. Carlos followed behind him.

"So, what is the personal thi—"

"Damn, you guys walk slow," a voice came from the doctor's room.

"Wait... Doctor? You aren't gone?"

The doctor walked over to greet Axel and Carlos.

"Oh yeah, I didn't realize how late it was. I'll go tomorrow morning."

"So, what is the personal thing you mentioned?"

"Well, it's a long story. Let me explain," the doctor said before beginning his story.

10 minutes later...

(I'm not exposing the backstory yet.)

"Well, that was all of it. It's nighttime now, and we all need some sleep. Goodnight," the doctor said before heading to his room.

Axel was dumbfounded and couldn't find the words to say.

"It's crazy, right? And he didn't even tell you everything yet. Have a good night, kid. You'll need it," Carlos said before leaving the house.

Axel began to wonder.

What does all of that mean? The village... the meteor that killed the entire village... I don't understand any of it.

"Fuck this. I need sleep," Axel muttered to himself before going to bed.

……

In a dark building, a man stood in front of a message delivery box. He pulled out a letter.

The letter read:

Deliver this to Patient Sixty-Four's husband.

The woman placed it inside the box and left without making a sound.

……

09.00

In his room, the doctor woke up and started getting dressed so he could deliver the medicine.

Before leaving, he took out his knife and made a small cut on his skin. Then he uncorked the medicine and poured a few drops into the wound. It healed almost instantly.

"Hmm... I'm from the Sun pathway. Even though my Sequence isn't very high, I should still be able to tell if something is wrong, so it should be safe."

He left his room, but before leaving the house, he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote:

I have something to do. I'll be right back. :)

After writing the note, he was about to leave, but hesitated. He returned to his room, picked up his saz, and finally left the house.

……

09.30

The doctor entered the "hospital" and walked straight to the receptionist.

"May I see the patient in Room Sixty-Four?"

"Of course, sir. Also, someone left a letter for you."

"Oh, thanks."

After thanking the receptionist, the doctor headed toward Room Sixty-Four.

Hmm... I should open this letter.

The doctor carefully opened the envelope, making sure not to damage anything.

As he began reading, his expression slowly changed to one of anger and discomfort.

The letter read:

Hello, my child. I hope I'm not troubling you.

I didn't expect you to become a Sun pathway Beyonder. If you had believed me, you could have become a Beyonder much more easily. I expected you to choose the Secret Suppliant pathway. You know why I expected that. :)

I also saw that you were interested in the Devil's Notes at that cute little gathering. I know why you're interested, because you know who wrote them, don't you?

Ah... he would have been so proud of you. You know that. :)

Anyway, here's a little treat for you.

Log 0036-7

For this experiment, I obtained two willing conjoined twins. The first twin will be called A, and the second will be called B. The purpose of the experiment is to determine whether conjoined twins share the same soul and what would happen if they consumed two different pathway potions. I will record the results in detail.

I first approached the twins with two potions. The first potion belonged to the Assassin pathway, and the second to the Hunter pathway. Since these are neighboring pathways, I theorized that if they survived, they would become a valuable asset to me.

I instructed the twins(A) to drink their potions. However, immediately after consumption, their bodies began to mutate and morph. I had expected this to happen, so I quickly dealt with the resulting twin monster.

Using my flesh and blood magic, I separated the two conjoined twins(B). Then I made one drink the Sleepless pathway potion and the other the Corpse Collector pathway potion.

In a surprising turn of events, both of them successfully consumed the potions.

However, I still had one question in mind, so I went to the Sleepless twin to check something. Then I went to the other twin and asked, "Hey, did you just feel something?"

The other twin, terrified, answered, "Yes. I felt as if something was eating me, and I felt as if my connection to something had been severed."

I replied, "Well, I know what it was. Your brother's soul tasted good. Maybe yours will too."

"Oh, I would do anything to see a face that terrified again, so I ate that twin as well to avoid leaving a mess behind."

So, what did we find out?

  • Twins do not share a single soul.
  • Twins' souls are connected; they can feel what happens to each other to some extent.
  • For some reason, twin souls taste better—but that might just be me.

And with that, my experiment has come to an end.

You know why I chose this specific log. :)

"So... he's been watching me. That worthless monster..."

"No. Compose yourself. You can't let her see you like this."

The doctor quickly calmed himself and entered the room.

"Hey, Mallory, are you awake?" the doctor asked hopefully, but he quickly realized that Mallory was still in her coma-like state.

"Looks like I still have hope, my love."

The doctor quickly walked over to her bed, sat down beside her, and took out the medicine.

The guy said it could either be drunk or applied to the skin, but he recommended drinking it.

The doctor carefully poured the medicine onto the area of skin closest to her heart and waited.

Within a minute, the medicine was absorbed. However, her body did not recover very much. Only the color of her skin improved slightly.

"Looks like I'll need to bring something more powerful. I'm sorry, my love."

"But don't worry. I'll find a way."

"Well... my powers can't make you better, but maybe my singing can make you feel better."

He picked up his saz and smiled softly.

"I hope I haven't forgotten our song."

……..

In a room, an old man sat on his bed while his family stood before him, grieving.

"Don't worry. I have lived my life to the fullest. I'm not afraid of death. It's better if you leave. I don't want you to witness my miserable death."

The old man's family quietly left the room.

"I have earned money. I have acquired land. I have found love. I have gained many things in my life, yet the coldness in my chest has never become warm."

"I am scared. I know that. But I'm not scared of death. I'm scared of dying with this coldness in my heart."

"Am I even human at this point? Did I truly love my wife? Did I truly love my children? I don't know, because I don't know what warmth feels like."

"I'm terrified that I'll die without ever knowing whether I truly loved them or not."

"Huh... looks like this was my curse in life. I became wealthy and successful, yet I have never felt warmth in my life."

The old man turned to look out the window, as if waiting for a miracle.

"Huh... what am I waiting for? A miracle? If such a thing existed, I would have felt wa—"

His words were interrupted by the sound of a voice accompanied by a musical instrument.

Normally, he would have been upset by the interruption.

But this voice...

And this instrument...

They were different.

They filled his heart with the warmth he had searched for all his life.

"Oh..."

"So I was wrong."

"Miracles really do exist."

"And now I understand."

"I loved them."

"I loved them with all my life."

He began to cry uncontrollably as the warmth he had waited for his entire life finally embraced him.

"I'm ready."

"Death... you may take me now."

"I have received everything I ever wanted."

"I'm ready."

Twenty minutes later, the old man passed away peacefully, wearing the brightest smile he had ever shown in his life.

That day, within that hospital, every dying patient passed away with warmth and happiness in their hearts.

Even the healthy patients felt it.

That night, they all slept peacefully, their hearts filled with a warmth they could not explain.

(Like the last post, there are some secrets in the logs and some outside the logs. I don't even know how I wrote that last part, but I loved that scene for some reason.)

[LotM Roleplay] The doctor that's a bit weird? (chapter 4)

(chapter 3 https://www.reddit.com/r/LordofTheMysteries/comments/1u5j4ae/lotm_roleplay_the_doctor_thats_a_bit_crazy/ )

22:00

In his office, the doctor was still taking a nap. The office was quiet—no sounds, no footsteps. It was as if the room existed in another space entirely.

Then a knock came from the office door.

The sound startled the doctor awake.

"Why are you guys waking me up again? It's only 16:00."

As he said this, he looked at the clock.

"Holy shit, it's already 22:00."

"I'm coming. Just wait a minute."

The doctor quickly hid his diary and opened the door.

There was no one there.

Not a single soul.

"Hmm. Well, there are only three explanations for this. One, I'm in a dream. Two, I've been drugged. Three, this is some Beyonder bullshit, like my friend said. Okay then, this is a problem."

"I should wake Axel up."

The doctor started walking toward Axel's room.

Walked...

Walked...

Walked...

"Yeah, no. I've walked for at least ten minutes. By now I should have reached Axel's room, left, gone outside for a cigarette break, and come back. I should take a look around."

Before doing so, he took out his knife and made a small cut on his hand.

that wasn't deep enough for a bleeding.

The doctor stood in the middle of the corridor and looked around.

"Okay, that's normal. That's normal. That's a bit weird, but that happens sometimes. Aha, I found it."

He looked at a perfectly normal patient room.

"This door has been broken for five years, and now it's magically fixed. The only time this thing gets fixed is because of Beyonder bullshit. Hilarious."

"Well, I'll miss you, buddy, but don't worry. I'll find a way to fix you in real life."

While talking, the doctor noticed a shadow move on the opposite side of the hallway.

"Shit. This is bad. Was that the one who did this? Shit, was I supposed to stay still? But now I've moved."

"Is it interested in me? What Sequence could it be? There's only one option—the Assassin pathway. But they can't do things like this. So that thing is trapped in here with me too."

"I'll just act normal and open the door."

After calming himself down, the doctor opened the door.

The room was quite normal. It had emergency equipment and everything looked ordinary except for the patient lying in the bed.

It wasn't the patient.

It was the dog that had eaten the Visionary characteristic before dying at the doctor's hands.

The dog slowly turned toward him and spoke in a horrible voice.

"You killed me for your own amusement. You fed me something you didn't even understand. You played with me, believing you were above consequences. You shall pay the price for playing with life itself."

Then the dog began gargling blood. Its head dropped to the floor while its flesh tore itself apart.

The doctor stared in disbelief for a moment.

Then he started laughing.

"What the fuck is this? Some kind of joke? Did you really think that was supposed to scare me?"

"'You shall pay with your life.'"

"What are you doing? Are we in a low-effort book? What the fuck was that?"

"Are we in some crappy horror house? That was so stupid. Did you really think I was going to be scared of the dead? They're fucking dead. Nothing is going to happen to me."

"Okay, let's say the spirit of the dog is haunting me. Then what? What's it going to do?"

"I already made my decision to become a Beyonder. I don't care about consequences."

"So, please don't kill me, super scary ghost."

After finishing his speech, he continued laughing.

Ten minutes later, he finally regained his composure.

"Wait, was that really it? I was expecting something actually scary. This was some bullshit. You better step up your game, my man. That really sucked."

The doctor continued talking trash to the empty air.

...

Not far from the hospital, in a dark alleyway, a man dressed in black was looking around.

Suddenly, a figure appeared behind him.

"Sir, the Sealed Artifact has been captured."

The man frowned.

"Are you lying to me, Marcus? The two of you couldn't take down a Grade 2 Sealed Artifact by yourselves."

"Yes, sir, we couldn't. And we didn't. It willingly sealed itself."

"That's impossible. I know it behaves like a living being, but it wouldn't willingly allow itself to be captured."

"Well, sir, it didn't exactly. I'll give you the short version. In private, I'll explain everything."

"The thing said it was trying to cause chaos by scaring people in their dreams. While doing that, it chose a man. It didn't give a description."

"It invaded the man's dream and showed him some kind of nightmare."

"And then the man started laughing."

The man in black blinked.

"What?"

"He laughed, sir. Then he basically said, 'What the fuck is this supposed to be? Scary? Are we in a low-effort book and a crappy horror house?'"

Marcus coughed.

"Then he spent ten minutes insulting it."

The alleyway became silent.

"The Sealed Artifact no longer wants to continue causing nightmares. It said it needs to perfect its powers before trying again."

The man in black stared at Marcus.

"So a random man hurt a Sealed Artifact's pride?"

"Apparently, sir."

"Who was this man? A Beyonder? But if he was a Beyonder, he would have recognized that Beyonder powers were involved."

"Could it have been a normal person?"

The man's eyes narrowed.

"Marcus, get me a list of every building affected by the nightmares. We need to find that person."

"Yes, sir. I'll do everything in my power to find him."

"And Marcus."

"Yes, sir?"

"How did the Sealed Artifact get unsealed?"

Marcus looked away.

"Umm... sir, the person guarding it fell asleep."

"..."

"..."

"Which amateur was that? Why are we giving idiots Sealed Artifacts?"

"It was your brother, sir."

"..."

The man rubbed his forehead.

"I'll deal with him later. Just find those buildings and start questioning the people inside."

23:00

The doctor suddenly woke up.

He waited a minute, looking around his surroundings, then checked his hand.

The cut was gone.

"So it wasn't real after all."

He examined his hand for another moment.

"Hmm. Beyonder powers could still have been involved, but other people were probably affected too."

"I guess this will be the first time I meet an official Beyonder."

"I just hope they don't notice anything weird about me."

[LotM Roleplay] The doctor that's a bit crazy (chapter 3)

(chapter 2 : https://www.reddit.com/r/LordofTheMysteries/comments/1u4sihi/lotm_roleplay_the_doctor_that_is_still_too/ read it to understand whats going on)

“No, no, no! Please don't eat me! I'll give you anything you want—money, whatever you want! Just don't kill me!” the patient said in a panic-induced voice.

“Eat? The fuck are you talking about, man? Why would I be a cannibal? It doesn't make any sense. It's impractical. If you eat another human, you'll just get a bunch of diseases, that's it. And it tastes like pork. Why would I eat a human? That's so stupid. I mean, if it tasted different and didn't give you diseases, then I'd understand, but as it is? That's just stupid.”

The patient was bewildered by the doctor's explanation. He hadn't talked about morality or anything like that; he had only discussed how impractical it would be.

After the doctor stopped talking, the patient asked in a worried voice, “Then why did you ask that?”

“Well, I wanted to figure out if you were half-human and half-fish. Do you have gills?”

“No, I do not have gills, and these scales aren't permanent. But why did you ask such a weird question? You could've just asked directly,” the patient said in a more relaxed voice.

“You know what? Yeah, that was a stupid question. Ah, sorry, I didn't ask for your name.”

“My name is Axel.”

“And my name is...” The doctor paused for a moment before continuing. “I don't think I shall give my name.”

“I can literally ask one of the nurses for your name.”

“Hm. Yeah, I didn't think of that. Anyway, I have some more questions, if you want to answer them.”

“Fine. Just be quick. You're giving me a headache.”

“So, you know how Beyonder characteristics just come out of the body? What if we split the body apart and fed part of it to an animal before the Beyonder characteristic came out? Which side would the characteristic emerge from?”

Axel looked at the doctor in disbelief and answered, “How the fuck would I know that?”

“What? You don't know? That should be one of the first things you do to understand something like this.”

“Dude, we're dealing with magic. I'm not going to experiment with it.”

“Well, if you're not willing to take a little gamble, what's the fun in that?”

“How did you become a doctor like this?”

“Hm. I mean, I almost got kicked out of school six times because I was doing bad experiments, but I don't usually act like this. I think it's a side effect of eating it raw.”

“Wait, did you eat a Beyonder characteristic raw?”

“Yep. It did not taste good.”

Axel simply looked down in disbelief and sighed.

“Are you going to ask me any real questions?”

“How do I advance in my pathway?”

“Okay, first you need the potion formulas, and you need the potion from your own pathway—not a potion from another pathway—or you'll lose control.”

“My second question: will the official Beyonders just capture us?”

“I mean, it depends on your pathway. If your pathway is considered evil or something like that, then maybe. I don't know. If you have a pathway like the Sun pathway, they'd probably try to recruit you.”

“You're not from here, right?”

Axel looked at the doctor. “What does that have to do with powers? But yes, I'm not from here.”

“Then do you want to become my... uh... let's say lab assistant? How does that sound?”

“Why would I ever accept th—”

“I can give you a place to sleep without identification papers. And because we're medical professionals, the police tend to look the other way when we do certain things.”

“Fine. But what do you mean by lab assistant? What exactly do you want me to do?”

“We're just going to do some experiments. Also, is there a group of people who gather together to discuss things or sell items?”

“Yes, there are. I know some of them, but we can't go right now. I'll find a way to get you inside.”

“And what time is it?”

“Oh, it just became 3 p.m.”

“Then let me fucking rest. I'm injured, you know.”

“I know, I know. Get a good sleep, or I'll lose my precious lab assistant.”

“My name is Axel, you idiot.”

After that, the doctor left the room.

16 a.m

The doctor sat in his office, staring at a document. After ten minutes, he opened his diary and started writing.

Wow. Huge things happened today.

Firstly, I met my friend, and we had a lovely conversation.

Secondly, I went to the hospital to work.

Thirdly, I met an injured Beyonder. He is now my willing lab assistant.

I have so many ideas.

Firstly, I need a Beyonder characteristic. It doesn't matter which pathway it comes from; I just need one.

Secondly, I need willing participants or animals. Getting human participants will be difficult, but I'm sure I can find a way.

I'm so excited to learn how these Beyonder characteristics work.

I also need something that can heal people. The first thing I should do is testing. I can't use something mysterious on my wife without understanding it first. That's just dumb.

This entry was short, but I need to get some rest.

Goodbye.

(ı was gonna make it longer but ı dont know how to continue without exposing what ım gonna do the next episode and does the books explain what happens to the beyonder characteristic when the body gets split or lose an arm ı cant remember thanks in advance 😄)

[LotM Roleplay] The doctor that is still too curious about the world

(my first lotm roleplay link https://www.reddit.com/r/LordofTheMysteries/comments/1u47m2h/lotm_roleplay_the_doctor_who_is_too_curious_about/ )

Day 131

Okay, so I haven’t gone insane. That’s the good part. But I don’t think I’m 100% human anymore, because humans probably aren’t meant to hold these powers.

I mean, if we were, The gods would’ve told us, probably. I might just be paranoid, but if we were meant to hold these powers, then normal humans would know they existed, wouldn’t they?

Wait… could the churches have powers like this, but they’re directly gaining them from gods while we gain them by eating things? Could these physical powers be the stolen powers of the gods?

If that’s true, then I’m probably dead. I should’ve thought before eating it.

Okay, okay, I’m just gonna get to my main point. I was gonna talk about my powers, or the things I got.

Firstly:

  1. I’m physically better—more energy and strength.
  2. I know my singing can empower people and dispel fear, but how? I don’t know how that works.

Damn, only two powers, and these aren’t even the ones I want. Maybe I have to eat the other things. Fuck, I sold all of them. I could’ve eaten the eye thing, but it’s gone.

Well, I can find them again. It’s no problem.

10 a.m

The sun started to shine through the window. The man looked at it silently.

A knock came through the door.

“Hey man, how are you doing? You didn’t become a monster, right?”

“Does it even matter if I’m human or a monster? In the end, both die.”

“Stop talking in riddles. Just tell me if you’re okay.”

“Fine, fine. I’m okay. I’m just messing with you.”

“So how are you feeling? And I’m not opening the door until you give me a detailed explanation.”

“Okay then, I’ll start from last night.”

11 a.m

“So you ate it and didn’t even tell me anything? Do you know how lucky you are?”

“Hey, don’t scream at me. I just took a gamble. And why are you talking like that? You ate one of these things too.”

“Well, I didn’t eat it raw—that’s why.”

“Oh… we’re not supposed to eat it raw?”

“….”

“…. ”

Now this has become quite awkward, hasn’t it? And when are you opening the door?

“Fine, I’m opening it. Just don’t make any sudden movements.”

The figure outside the door put the key in, unlocked the door, and twisted the handle.

When the door opened, he saw a man preparing to lunge at him.

“Mother fuck—”

Then the man stopped, smirked, and said, “I’m just fucking with you. Calm down.”

“Oh, you should kill your—” He took a deep breath and continued, “I’m taking 20% of the money you gave me. Fuck you.”

“That was worth it. So how’s outside?”

“Well, everything’s fine. I told your colleagues you had to take care of your wife for a few days, so your job is safe.”

“How’s my wife?”

“She’s the same as before. She probably didn’t even notice you were gone.”

“Sorry… I shouldn’t have said that. My bad.”

“Nah, it’s okay. Well, I have the power to help her. So when can I eat another one of these?”

“No, no. Stop. We need to talk first. Just sit. I’m going to explain how these powers work.”

12 a.m

“Why 22? Why not 30? Do you know that?”

“Please stop asking stupid questions. How would I know that? I literally know basic stuff. Just listen.”

“Okay then. Which pathway did I choose?”

“You chose the Sun pathway. It specializes in purification.”

“So what’s your pathway?”

“I’m an Apprentice, remember? The yellow-and-black stone shaped like a key you gave me—that was it.”

“Anyway, I have to go. Someone’s looking for me. I need to go into hiding. They probably won’t care about you, so don’t worry. And you should go to the hospital—new injured people are there. Goodbye, my friend, and don’t worry, I will be back.”

“And before I go, if you’re in trouble, find a believer of The Hanged Man/Ezcu123. ‘He’ will help you.”

The man got up and walked out the door. The man left in the room sat in deep thought.

12 a.m (hospital)

A man was sitting in his office, going through documents, when a voice called out:

“Doctor, there’s a man who needs urgent care. You should come quickly.”

The man thought to himself: I can’t even sit down for five minutes.

“Where’s the patient?”

“Room 5, sir.”

……

Upon entering the room, he saw the man in great pain, trying to get off the bed.

“What are you waiting for? Give me some herbs to reduce his pain!”

“Hey, hey, calm down. You’re in a hospital. Everything’s going to be okay—just calm do—”

While speaking, he noticed scales on the patient’s body.

“Calm the fuck down!” he screamed, rushing closer and whispering, “You’re showing your powers. Calm down or other people will see it. I won’t tell anyone, just calm down.”

The man looked at him and said weakly, “Fuck… I should’ve been more careful before going unconscious.”

12 a.m (room 5)

“Doctor, are you sure you want us to leave? He could be dangerous.”

“How many times do I have to say it? Three times. Three fucking times. Can’t you understand when I give an order?

It’s okay to question me, but not three times. I don’t care if you were sent by the administrator. I don’t care if I get fired from this worthless place. Just leave.”

The nurses left quietly.

“Why is he so mad? And what’s with the administrator thing?”

“Oh, I forgot you’re new. It’s a long story, but I’ll simplify it. When the war began, he started living at the hospital because there were so many injured people. He stopped sleeping properly, and his patience basically disappeared.

Some patients even reported him for being unprofessional. I understand him—working for days without rest while worrying about your wife would make anyone lose it.

Oh fuck… I shouldn’t have said that. It’s a personal issue. His wife is in a coma—well, not a full coma. She sleeps for days, wakes for an hour or two, and doesn’t really understand her surroundings.

Because he was always at the hospital, he couldn’t take care of her. He had a friend helping him, but still… that’s why he’s been like this lately.

Don’t tell anyone I told you. If he finds out, he’ll beat the fuck out of me. He almost killed someone once for getting too personal.

Just don’t antagonize him. He doesn’t mean it, don’t worry. He’ll probably apologize later. He can look mad, but he isn’t—”

He glanced at the clock.

“Looks like it’s lunch time. Let’s go eat.”

14 a.m

The man slowly opened his eyes in the hospital room.

He saw the doctor.

“What do you want?”

“I don’t want anything from you. I just need to ask a few questions. So—you’re from the Sailor pathway, am I right, Beyonder?”

“Yes… I am.”

“Good. Quick question—when I saw the scales on your body… you have fish-like physical traits. Does that mean your flesh tastes like fish too?”

The man looked at him nervously.

Fuck… fuck… fuck… I knew going to the hospital was a mistake. Does he want to eat me? Why is he asking such stupid questions? I don’t understand.

“I… I don’t know.”

“How sad. I thought someone would experiment with their physical traits.”

He chuckled softly.

“Well, there’s only one way to test it, am I right, my patient?”

[LotM Roleplay] The doctor who is too curious about the world

127 days have passed since I started this diary. I can still remember that day. It was the first time I saw that thing.

If you are not me and are reading this, then you're probably curious about what I mean. Don't worry, I will indulge your curiosity.

The thing I mentioned was not a living creature. It was an object that came out of a human body. It was a yellow-and-black stone shaped like a key. I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was important, so I hid it. Then I showed it to my old friend. He is a little too interested in mysteries and such things.

When I showed it to him, he froze and asked me worriedly, "How did you find that?"

I replied, "I found it on a dead corpse."

He said it was too dangerous and paid me 400 leon for it. I, of course, accepted the offer because I didn't know what it was. But from that day on, I started keeping a diary to document my findings.

I haven't seen another one exactly like that, but I have gathered some information. It is apparently an important object used to gain powers. I don't know how, but I know it works because I saw my friend use it.

Well, I'm going off topic.

This day was very hard for me. No, this entire week has been very hard for me. It's because of that war. I didn't expect such a war to break out so quickly, but I can't deny that I gained a lot from it.

I have witnessed five of those things. I have already acquired four of them, but the fifth one was seen by others. I couldn't take it. It seems powerful people are fighting in the war. I could easily sell these things if I found the right connections, but I don't need money. I need answers. I need to know what these things are and how they grant powers.

Experiment Log 1: My First Gamble

I chose one of those things and fed it to a dog. It was old and dying. I thought maybe it could survive, but I wouldn't be able to tell if it gained powers. It went horribly wrong.

At 19:30, if the clock was correct, I fed the dog the thing. It was a silver-white vertical eye. Not even a minute later, eyes started growing all over its body, and its skull began to expand. I didn't know what was happening, so I pulled out my revolver and shot it four times in the skull and once in the eye.

Maybe it had started to gain powers and I misunderstood what was happening, but I had no choice.

I dragged the body inside my house, and a minute later the thing came out of the dog's body, but the eye was still there. So I waited ten minutes to make sure it wasn't moving or doing anything unnatural.

Then I began dissecting the dog.

The eye was fascinating. It had grown like a perfectly normal eye, but could it really function that well? Biologically, it would make sense that it could work, but this is not biology. This is magic.

I have to keep the body fresh for further experiments.

Record 1: Important

I don't know what's happening, but I have started to change. I have become angrier. I don't think rationally anymore, and I keep having strange dreams.

Could those things really be affecting me?

I have to be quick. I need to sell them or bury them somewhere safe.

I decided to bury the things.

Day 128

One of the things ı buried is gone

I don't know what to do. I sold three of them and buried the eye thing and another one. Did an animal dig them up and eat them? No. I sprayed the area with a chemical that should have kept animals away.

Could it be that these things create a desire to consume them? Could that be true?

I have to think.

I won't wait any longer. This is probably the only chance I will ever get to gain powers. Even if I die eating one of these things, then I will die trying.

I already gave my money to my friend. He will take care of my wife.

If you're reading this, then it means I died.

Do not eat them.

I'm only doing this because I have spent my whole life searching for a way to save my wife and restore her health. If this is the way I can save her, then I'm taking it.

If you're not as desperate as I am, then just sell them. Do not get greedy.

This is my last recording. If this diary doesn't continue, then I'm dead.

...

9 P.M.

Away from everybody, a man sat alone in his room. He stopped writing in his diary and grabbed the crimson star that was singing.

Trying to stay calm, he stood up from his seat and moved away from any furniture.

"I'm sorry, but I have to do this, my love."

What am I doing? Talking to myself?

If a colleague saw me, they would probably throw me into an asylum.

Well, there's no reason to delay my death.

I waited two minutes before eating it.

The moment I bit into the crimson star, I felt a warmth unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

My throat wanted to sing.

No.

I needed to sing.

I wanted to sing for hours.

Before I could comprehend what was happening, the warmth spread through my entire body. It wasn't normal heat. It didn't come from outside.

It came from within.

It felt as though my organs were being boiled alive.

Then I started hearing things.

Seeing things.

I don't know what they were.

Voices.

Songs.

Flashes of light.

Before long, I lost consciousness.

10 P.M.

I-I'm alive.

How is this possible?

I felt as though I was going mad, but none of this makes sense.

And yet, I know things that shouldn't make sense.

I don't know how to explain it. It feels as though I have always known them.

When I opened my mouth, I knew I could sing courage into another man's heart.

I knew I could drive away fear.

I knew these facts as surely as I knew my own name, yet nobody had ever taught them to me.

No.

Surely I have become a monster or lost my sanity.

None of this is possible.

I need a mirror.

I need to see myself.

...

Huh.

I don't look that different.

But I look healthier.

More energetic.

The bags under my eyes are gone.

Does that mean I was successful?

No.

I can't be too sure.

I need to isolate myself first.

One day.

No, two days.

That should be enough.

Well, before I lock myself away, I should write in my diary again.

Day 128

I ate the thing, and I learned a lot from it.

I won't write any of it down right now because I'm not certain whether it's correct or not.

Just know that I'm alive and well.

I am going to isolate myself for two days.

Maybe three.

I haven't decided yet.

I won't write during that time because I don't know if I've gone insane.

My colleagues will probably understand if I suddenly lose my mind.

Even if I do go mad, I'll save her before I completely lose myself.

Then I'll probably end it.

It would be too dangerous for an insane monster like me to remain alive.

(hi guys english is not my first language so sorry if i butchered this post my bad and the last part does not reflect my mental health its just my character thanks for reading it)
