Cold-DMing people who posted about the problem I'm solving - is it smart or spam?

Building something small for a specific niche, and the leads I've found are people who literally posted about the problem here on Reddit.

Plan is to DM them directly asking for a 15-min call to understand their situation. Not to selling anything, just trying to learn. is it a smart move, or a fast way to get reported?

Anyone done cold outreach like this off people's posts. What worked and what got you flagged?
