Update to “concerning US” post!

Yesterday I posted that I was referred to the prenatal diagnostic center after a tech at a keepsake/boutique ultrasound center contacted my OB with some concerns.

They were able to get me into an appointment today (🙏🏼) and I had a very long and detailed 45 minute scan where the tech checked out baby’s brain/spine/heart/kidneys/limbs, etc. Baby was active and wiggling and waving hands and kicking feet around. After the tech finished, the radiologist came in and said he saw nothing concerning, “no sign of hydrocephalus or ventriculomegaly” (which is what they’d check for hearing something like ‘fluid on the brain’), and after reviewing all of the detailed images, he saw a perfectly normal first trimester ultrasound.

I’m SO relieved, I cried on the way home — happy tears! We got lots of cute pictures, and the tech was able to confirm gender from our NIPT today at 13W5D.

Thank you so much to everyone who commented and sent their prayers, good vibes and thoughts ❤️

“Concerning” ultrasound

Hey all, I had an NT scan on 5/29 which was a reschedule to the original appointment the week before, and was told everything looked good and the tech had “no concerns”.

I had previously booked a boutique ultrasound for that following Tuesday (6/2), so I went to that yesterday anyway.

I got a call from my OB office this morning letting me know they were sending me to the perinatal diagnostic center for additional imaging, because the tech from the ultrasound boutique called the office and said she noticed “some fluid on the baby’s head”. My OB basically said - “you had a good NT, your NIPT came back low risk, fluid on the baby’s head doesn’t tell me anything/is not even medical terminology, they are not a diagnostic center, but I don’t want to ignore it and want to make sure you get some additional imaging and not wait until the 20W anatomy scan.”

So of course now I’m panicking. I’ve been calling the hospital to try to schedule this level 2 US but the referral hasn’t gone through yet. I’m 13 weeks & 4 days today and of course I’m googling and I’m all over Reddit and reading about hydrocephalus and what that could even mean, and I’m just hoping someone else has been through this or someone can talk me off the ledge. We had a loss in December (MMC at 10 weeks) and I’m just not feeling ok right now.

First post!

Hey all, I’m 13W1D today and just wondering what everyone else’s symptoms are currently! I know every body and every pregnancy is different, but it is nice to relate to others who are *around~ the same place in pregnancy as you.

For me:
Lower back soreness
Dull cramping/pulling feeling
Tired/yawning all the time
Sore nipples
Irritability
Constipation (so bad)

Also, I feel like I wake up looking relatively lean and then end the day looking 5 months pregnant 😅
