Can You have a PE and not know it

Hi about four years ago, I (F,47) was diagnosed with chronic venous, insufficiency, peripheral neuropathy, and pots.

I know CVI can cause deep vein thrombosis, which my dad has, but I don’t know a lot about DVT

CVI is a blood pooling disorder, so I’ve pretty much lived in compression socks since diagnosis

I really pushed myself to try and help my family and I wound up sitting up in a car for several days in a row, my legs were swelling, so I had taken off my compression stockings.

Last Monday, my legs were really bothering me.

I thought it was my pots, so I put my legs up in the air to try to stop the blood pooling and massaged where my leg was really bothering me.

It felt like the start of a Charlie horse or a mild burn Not the worst pain, just an annoying feeling. All of the sudden my chest got really congested, and I started coughing deeply.

A bunch of blood came up, in my mouth I spit what looked like a period clot in my sink.that has never happened before

Six days later, my other leg is still bothering me in a similar way; I’ve been taking it easy, definitely not rubbing it and trying to keep my feet elevated, which I’m supposed to do but every night I literally crawl up into a ball once I go to sleep

I don’t have access to medical care right now, hence the Reddit post, but for those of you experienced in clots and PE is that what this is? criteria should I be cons

any feedback would be appreciated.

EDIT: I refuse to die of poverty, or preventable conditions so I am at the ER now.TY for your encouragement and sharing your experiences

EDIT2: They said they found nothing. Which is strange because I don’t cough up blood on the regular. never actually saw a dr

EDIT3: I am pushing them to scan the other leg

EDIT4: Question - if a D-Dimer test is NOT performed can they accurately confirm clot or not?

thank you for your help❤️
