Post-lap: something sticking out incisions

Hi all,

I am 2 weeks post-lap today and have been recovering/healing generally okay. For the last week, since removing the second skin like bandages, there have been rather large plastic-feeling things (I'm assuming the stitches) sticking out of my incision sites. If these are stiches, is this normal for them to be poking out? They have been catching on clothes a lot and it's been very discomforting.

I have just came out of the shower and they seem to have dissolved a little, but still there. I tried to attach pics, but it says attachments aren't allowed in this sub?

Any suggestions to get rid of them would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

UK: Post-lap questions (& brain dump)

I (33F) am currently 5 days post-op. I haven't had *too much* pain but still taking my tramadol 50mg 4x daily (prescribed for endo pain). Didn't really get a lot of info before discharge and have quite a few questions floating in my head.

Surgeon briefly came over right as I was waking up post-op to say endo was found and removed, never seen her again after. I wasn't given any info on where, how much and what stage of endo. No follow up appt or anything discussed before discharge.

How long did you wait before:

- you recieved pathology report/results from lap?

- you had a follow up with surgeon/GP?

- showering?

- removing dressings from incisions?

- sleeping on your side?

- cooking/cleaning?

- leaving the house?

- driving?

- returning to work?

- working out (at home pilates/walks)?

To add:

My GP is amazing and has given a fit note for more than enough time to recover and feel mentally prepared before returning to work - so that's not an issue.

I'm not willing to push my body beyond what it can handle and end up worse off. I waited 2 days before I started using stairs and still going slow and limiting my stair use to twice a day; mornings coming down and evening going up to bed. The other day I went up and down 3 times and the pain increased quite a bit. I'm also fortunate to have a big family (husband, parents, 5 siblings and an overly helpful niece) with me to make everything easier during recovery as well.

Thanks in advance!
