Outsider perspective request on Espriella's

Trying to judge this guy on facts, not vibes. I'm not Colombian and not a Petro guy either, I'm Venezuelan-Uruguayan so I genuinely don't have a horse in your left/right thing. Every time the Saab stuff comes up someone goes "a lawyer defends anyone" ta ok but it's not just one thing when you actually line it up:

He took Saab on his own. Saab, the guy who was basically Maduro's money plumbing. And now he's the most anti-chavista candidate in the race. And it wasn't just business, Saab literally called him a friend in public, not "my lawyer," a friend.

Then there's a cop who got convicted for bribery because he admitted he got an iPhone from Espriella's firm for leaking info on the Saab investigation. And his firm also defended Murcia Guzman, the biggest Ponzi scheme in the country's history.

To be fair to him: his version is he took Saab before the Maduro stuff was public, told him to go cooperate with the DEA, and dropped him when he didn't. And an investigation into him got archived, nothing stuck. fine, I'll take that at face value, but when you put ALL of it on the table, how do you get from there to "anti-corruption outsider"? Like that's the part I actually can't make work in my head. somebody who voted for him explain it to me, for real, do you actually think when writing your signature on a ballot? It's critical thinking dead and we are cooked beyond hope? really a turd sandwhich vs a diarea soup?
